We have been working on a clean water project for a village that we volunteered in for three months. We are getting so close to being able to implement the plan. http://www.friendsofkunya.org/ Any support is super appreciated!

Hey everyone! Be sure to collect your empty soda/beer cans...we're temporarily supporting the Haiti relief efforts (through our very own "cans4chemo" program) by using the money we raise from the aluminum cans, to donate to this other cause. While we are still searching for a candidate to receive our assistance long term, we are "paying it forward' by sending the money to the earthquake victims! Collect and call - we'll do the rest - thank you!!!

My husband will pay for a meal in a restaurant, anonomously. Mostly the people are seniors, what appears to be a single mother, homeless individuals coming out of the cold into some of the restaurants to buy a cup of hot coffee, police officers, and a variety of people that are in need or to just say thanks, such as the police officers. He has been doing this for many years, and it brings him joy to do this without them knowing..
Each year we make a large purchase of needed items for Youth Care, even sheets for their beds, and socks for the cold. These are kids that are out on the street already at a young age. One of the things I love most is to give to people who need it, as maybe someday we may need it too!
Lisa, we just met, but your my kinda gal. You have a great thing going here, and I know you will succeed with the support of all the people like you!

We are inviting kids from our classes at school to come over for Thanksgiving. Sometimes kids don't live by their Grandmas and Grandpas or their parents don't know how to cook, so they can just come to our house and eat our huge 20 pound turkey with us!

There are so many ways to live a life of contribution and I feel so blessed to be able to share with others my gifts and talents in meaningful ways. I feel like I'm contributing to humanity by raising two happy, healthy, aware, and delightful children. I thoroughly enjoy helping entrepreneurs get their ideas into action in the form of businesses and do so with the Northwest Entrepreneur's Network, teaching at the UW, and meeting entrepreneurs for coffee and beer to discuss their "sticking points". The world is a far better place when our own unique gifts and talents are shared in ways that not only light up the people we touch, but light us up from within. Keep doing your great work Lisa!

I never pass a Real Change magazine vendor without buying a magazine. It is so important what they are doing and I truly feel that organizations like this are the MOST effective in empowering people and getting them on their feet. It is a blessing to be able to speak with them also!

Every fall I clean out my closet of coats and blankets no longer being used and I take to the homeless shelter to share with those who can use them. These past two years I have opened this to others to donate their unused items and this month so far have made 3 trips with a full SUV down to Seattle to the Union Gospel Mission with coats and blankets for many. Thank you to all those who cleaned out their closets with me.

I am so impressed with your idea, effort, persistance and "stick to-itness" to putting this all together. Good for you Lisa! Paying it forward is such a wonderful way to share our blessings with others. One of the most effective ways to pay it forward it to authentically be present and to listen as well as hear the person you are speaking to. People want to know you are listening and it makes a huge difference. And then help with no agenda.
