This winter’s charity focus is on our aluminum can recycling program called “cans4chemo.”
We are enthusiastically campaigning for this cause by asking local businesses, schools, neighborhoods, media, city offices, and personal friends and family to collect recyclable aluminum cans.
All you need to do is save your empty 12 oz. aluminum beverage cans for us, and we will turn them into cash. In turn, this cash will be donated to a deserving family who’s child is undergoing chemo treatments...it's that simple.
Our biggest collection efforts happened in the Fall of 2009 when we teamed up with UW Husky Football "Tailgating" fans for the last 3 games of the season! For more on what we did with this project, you can visit "The Charities" page, and then click on "cans4chemo". Our goal for 2010 is to carry this new "tradition" on with the Husky fans again, and to get our collections going at Seahawks and Sounders games!
AND, most importantly - we are still searching for a family to support with our efforts...please contact me if you know someone who may be able to use our help. Then, stay posted, and we will make the annoucement as soon as the details are finalized!
